Internal Transfer Process
Policy Details
- These guidelines pertains to all internal transfers
- Open positions are posted on Cross Country’s Employee Career Portal
- In order to provide internal applicants the opportunity to apply, each position will be posted for a minimum period of five (5) calendar days
- Human Resources may recruit internal and external applicants concurrently for open positions
- Human Resources will commit to posting all positions for director level and below
- An employee can initiate the request to apply for an internal opportunity by informing their current manager and completing the Internal Posting Form.
- An employee may only apply for (1) one open position at a time
- In the event that an internal employee approaches the hiring manager or Recruiter directly, he/she will be redirected to his/her current manager
- All internal job postings are to be initiated against an open/approved requisition only
- Any exceptions to this must be approved by the Sr. VP, Human Resources
Eligibility Guidelines
Employees interested in an internal opportunity must meet the following minimum criteria to apply for an opening. The Corporate Recruiter in conjunction with the HR Manager will evaluate the employee’s experience prior to moving forward with additional interviews. The following minimum qualifications must be met:
- Meet the minimum hiring specifications for the position
- Notify his/her manager in advance of an interview
- Be in current position for at least (1) year. If opening is in the same department or if both managers agree the transfer would be in the best interest of the company; the length of service requirement may be waived after discussion with HR
- Display satisfactory job performance (performance rating >= 2, not on any active written counseling/warnings, performance improvement plans, etc.)
- Exceptions require the approval of the Sr. Vice President, Human Resources
Pre-Approval Process
- Once the Internal Posting Form has been completed, the employee will have his/her supervisor sign the Posting Form acknowledging employee's request for transfer, which confirms employee's eligibility prior to interviewing.
- Employee will forward approve Internal Posting Form to Human Resources.
